How to use Open Step to connect RDP (Device Automation) Empty How to use Open Step to connect RDP (Device Automation)

    Hi,

I'm having trouble connecting to an RDP session using device automation - Open step action.

in the URI i've entered "rdp://<Username>\<Domain>:<Password>@<hostname>" OR  "rdp://<Domain>\<Username>:<Password>@<hostname>"
I'm not getting any error or results.

    Please help thanks!

    Hi,
are you trying to open MSTSC in your DA and then connect to another desktop?

    Hi,
it's of course possible, but I don't get the point. If you need to connect to different device, why don't you install DAS on that computer and work with it directly?
If you have no possibility to install DAS there, you can use RDP, but then you will have to work with the device only via images, because you won't be able to see any object, like with Citrix. Then you'll have to go with robots via image finders or nine grid finders and using onscreen OCR. In case you're using 10.3 then you can use ISA tree mode, which uses onscreen OCR to generate the object XML tree and is very useful in case of Citrix, or your way.
Here are the steps to build robot to connect to RDP:
Run MSTSC and configure your connection:

Save the connection on your desktop:

    Run the shortcut:

Then you can see the RDP session, but without any tree:

    Best regards,

    Hi,
there is also another option and this was you asked as first I think, it's to unlock the workstation, where DAS is running, in case the screen is locked. In that case, you use the Open step and type the RDP details. But this option is only for desktop, where DAS is running and you just need to unlock the screen.
